Dr. Goudra is a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The University of Pennsylvania is an Ivy League institution and its medical school, the Perelman School of Medicine, is ranked among the top ten medical schools in the United States for the 20th year in a row. Currently, Dr. Goudra also holds the position of Director of Endoscopy Anesthesia at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. In addition, he serves as a consultant to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products /Drug Safety and Risk Management advisory committee.
Dr. Goudra is a world leader in the field of endoscopy anesthesia. Besides being the principal editor of two international textbooks in the field of anesthesiology (Out of Operating Room Anesthesia, Anesthesiology: A Practical Approach), Dr. Goudra has published extensively in numerous PubMed indexed medical journals. An alumni of Bangalore Medical College, Dr. Goudra ranked 21st in the All India entrance exam for PG courses in 1992. With the option of entering any specialty of his choice for postgraduate education, including Radio diagnosis in JIPMER, Dr. Goudra chose to pursue anesthesiology in JIPMER.
Dr. Goudra is also a fellow of the Royal College of Anesthetists (FRCA) and the College of Anesthetists (FCARCSI) from Ireland.
